Pour Your Heart Out!
The Neon Dream Machine is Here!
Hello all! Welcome to Neon Dream Machine!
To kick off our blog series I wanted to start of with a splash! Or a pour, and talk about the making of my website, and how I used a creative approach to making it authentic as an artist in the world of ai.
I have been creating art for almost 15 years, granted, many of those years I look back and cringe a little at the beggining. At the start my masterpieces were horribly disproportionate little sketches, the paper fuzzy and marred from the constant erasing and trying again and again, sketches that took me days instead of hours to create and then several more days to ink out and paint upon their flawed surface.
Now those same sketches have a lot of knowledge behind them and have a more consistent approach to get to a finished design -the pages I paint upon no longer marred with the marks of an amatuer, but clean, colorful and polished. I feel deeply in my soul that I am a seasoned artist, but always growing and evolving in the process of fine tuning my skill.
My favorite phrase is "Start now, where you are, with what you have," and this truly resonates with how I turned a vision into a reality creating this mightly little website of mine.
To create my website, I scoured my files for images that made me thankful that I dedicated all those years sketching into the late night early mornings, trying, and trying again. For photos I found a treasure trove of pieces I felt represented my style and the direction I would like to aim and started laying the groundwork of the dream I have been building all of that time through trial, error and success.
Making a website is not an easy job, to say the least. I have been working diligently at it for the past month, but truly the process took the entire span of 15 years to get to. I reflected a lot as I poured over images that had once been such a challenge to create, today those would be a much simpler task to tackle but I owe all of that sharpened skill to the girl who struggled, who persevered through doubt and challenges, collecting them all together to share my work with the world.
When we persevere and focus on a passion, the person we were yesterday lights the way for us today.
I will admit that when I started working on this website, I had absolutely no clue where to start and I did test to see what ai could do to see some examples of what could be created, but none of them had the heart and soul I desired and all were far off the mark of representing what I envisioned. The only thing that can create a space that is true to what Neon Dream Machine represents is the artist herself.

After I found my direction, I got to work- I featured paint pours as backgrounds, thankful to my past self for photographing the glittering and swirling colors as the paint dried years ago, while also creating a few new ones with neon pops of color for my home page.
I thought a lot about what Neon Dream Machine would look like- to myself and to others.
To others I imagine that all they see is florescent neons, but for me it is a combination of a feeling and who I am at my center. Light, imagination, dreamy, fun, whimsical. So I got to work creating a space that is a little bit of all of those things. And now here we are! Welcome to my little corner of the world, Welcome to the Neon Dream Machine my friends!
I hope you enjoy all of my hard work, and seeng it all come to life with me.
Thanks for reading my friends!
